Pole mounted transformers are electric utility distribution transformers that are mounted on an electrical service pole (wood or concrete) and are usually at the level of the overhead cables. Pole mounted transformers are the common breadbox transformers used for converting distribution voltage to the 240/400 volt power used by homes and low-volume commercial installations.

The core is made of quality cold-rolled silicon sheet and is of a full-miter nonpuncture structure. The transformer coil is made of quality oxygen-free copper or aluminium, depending on the clients requirements. It is artistic in appearance and safe in running and is widely used in transmission and distribution of industrial and agriculturalist. 3.3kV, 6.6kV, 11kV, 22kV and 33kV Distribution Transformers, manufactured by Matlakse, are tested in accordance with SANS 780 and IEC60076.
